The eight Ashtakoota components: read beyond the total
Ashtakoota refers to an eight-part traditional matching framework. Its component scores are not eight scientific measurements of a relationship. Reading them individually helps explain the total, but the interpretation still belongs to a particular astrological convention.

Why a component breakdown matters
A total alone does not tell you which rules contributed points or which component produced a low result. Open the breakdown and read the descriptions alongside the values. Check that the sum is consistent with the displayed total. The goal is transparency about the calculation, not a suggestion that adding numbers proves the future of two people.
Labels need careful explanation
Traditional labels can carry meanings that do not translate neatly into modern relationship language. They should not be used to rank people by social worth, caste, intelligence or moral character. A website explanation needs to state the narrow role of a label in the scoring convention instead of presenting it as an objective description of a person.
Cancellation notes are not extra points
An exception or cancellation note can qualify an interpretation without changing the raw component score. The reviewed Antaryami tool does not silently restore points because a note exists. Read the numeric result and the explanation separately. Otherwise two tools may appear to disagree when one has mixed interpretive adjustments into its total and another has not.
Compare like with like
Use the same two saved profiles, explicit role order and calculation convention before comparing scores. A changed role order or birth-star boundary can matter. Keep the component table with the total when discussing a result, and remember that communication, compatibility in daily life and consent are not established by matching a set of traditional chart labels.
