A Chaldean total containing 9: table values and sums differ

A letter table without any value of 9 can still produce a total of 9. The values assigned to individual letters and the sum of several values are different things. Confusing those stages can make a valid addition look impossible. This exercise uses an explicitly stated Chaldean-style teaching table, without treating its symbolic interpretations as verified descriptions of a person.

Conceptual diagram: U6 + R2 + A1; then Sum may be 9; then No letter assigned 9.

Declare the mapping being used

For this example, the groups are: 1 for A, I, J, Q, Y; 2 for B, K, R; 3 for C, G, L, S; 4 for D, M, T; 5 for E, H, N, X; 6 for U, V, W; 7 for O, Z; and 8 for F, P. No letter in this particular table receives 9. Keep the table with the worksheet rather than assuming every resource called Chaldean uses an identical convention.

Now use the fictional string URA. U receives 6, R receives 2 and A receives 1. The sum is 6 + 2 + 1 = 9. Nothing has violated the mapping: none of the letters was assigned 9. The total simply combines three permitted values.

Distinguish values, compounds and reductions

Another fictional string, URAU, produces 6 + 2 + 1 + 6 = 15. Ordinary digit reduction gives 1 + 5 = 6. The letter values, compound sum and reduced total belong in separate columns. A screenshot showing only 6 leaves the route invisible, so it cannot tell a reader which spelling or table was used.

If a worksheet rejects every result containing the digit 9 because no letter has that assignment, its validation rule is addressing the wrong stage. A compound sum of 19, for instance, is not prohibited merely because the table's individual entries stop at 8. First inspect the actual addition and only then the declared reduction convention.

Do not import a second table halfway through

Under the repeating A-to-Z Pythagorean-style mapping, the same letters receive different values. Switching to that table for one inconvenient letter makes the worksheet inconsistent. If comparing systems, calculate each complete input separately under each complete mapping and label both methods. A shared final digit would not make the methods identical.

The lesson is numerical bookkeeping rather than a ranking of traditions. A method can be internally reproducible without its life predictions being established. Preserve the original fictional string, one value per occurrence, the total before reduction and the stopping rule. If a real person's name is involved, respect their spelling and privacy. No result from this exercise establishes that their name is defective or needs to be purchased, corrected or changed for luck.
