Two alphabets, one person: why a name number needs a stated method
One person may write their name in more than one script. A Latin-letter numerology table does not automatically explain how to handle the other script, and a computer's text-normalisation setting cannot supply the missing cultural or mathematical rule. Before calculating, state which representation is being used and who confirmed it. The person's identity does not depend on the resulting number.

Separate transcription from normalisation
Unicode normalisation addresses particular relationships between encoded character sequences. It is not a general instruction to translate a name, remove accents or choose an English spelling. If a method accepts only A through Z, the author must disclose the additional transliteration or selection step instead of describing the whole process as simple normalisation.
Imagine a fictional worksheet with one original-script field and a separately confirmed Latin transcription, RAVI. The Latin teaching table can be applied to RAVI if that is the declared input. It cannot then claim to have calculated directly from the original script. Keep the transcription decision visible, especially when more than one accepted spelling exists.
Compare representations without ranking identities
Two Latin spellings can produce different totals under the same table. That difference demonstrates sensitivity to the chosen input, not proof that one representation is the person's true name. Do not use the result to override how someone writes, pronounces or identifies their name. For official records, follow the relevant record's actual requirements rather than a symbolic preference.
If a script-specific system is used instead, name its complete mapping and reduction rules. Do not mix a few values from one alphabet with the remaining values from a Latin table merely because the numbers look convenient. A mixed method would need its own explicit definition and should not be passed off as either original system.
Keep the worksheet honest about its limits
A reproducible note identifies the selected written form, any transformation made before calculation, the letter-value table and the reduction policy. Record unresolved spelling choices as unresolved. A calculator should ask for clarification or explain unsupported characters instead of silently dropping them and returning a confident interpretation.
For public examples, invented strings avoid collecting someone's real name in several scripts unnecessarily. If a private reading requires a real input, request only the relevant representation and obtain the person's confirmation before sharing it elsewhere. The useful conclusion is limited: this specified representation, under this specified method, gives this arithmetic result. It does not establish a universal numerical identity across languages, validate a transliteration or justify treating one culture's writing system as an imperfect version of another.
