Chosen and legal names are two inputs, not rival identities

A person may use a chosen name in everyday life and retain another name in formal records. A numerology exercise can calculate two declared letter sequences, but it cannot decide which name is the person's real identity. This guide offers a respectful comparison worksheet that leaves the naming decision with the person concerned.

Begin with the person's own description

Ask which name they want to explore and why. Do not demand a private legal name merely because a symbolic exercise is available. A chosen name may be sufficient for the person's question. If they voluntarily compare two forms, label each as they prefer and keep the purpose of the comparison clear.

Names can have structures and uses that do not fit a simple first-name-and-surname form. W3C's discussion of personal names is a useful reminder to avoid designing every record around one cultural pattern. A calculator's convenience should not become a rule about what somebody must call themselves.

Hold the calculation convention steady

For a teaching comparison, use one stated alphabet, value table and preprocessing rule on both inputs. Write the processed letters and unreduced totals. If you switch from a Pythagorean-style mapping to a Chaldean-style mapping between the two names, you have changed the method as well as the input.

Use fictional strings for a public example. Under a repeating 1–9 A–Z table, ANA gives 1 + 5 + 1 = 7, while MIRA gives 4 + 9 + 9 + 1 = 23, reducing to 5. The difference demonstrates the effect of different letters. It does not establish a difference in personal worth, authenticity or entitlement to a name.

Keep ordinary records out of the verdict

A symbolic result should not be used to pressure somebody to disclose, abandon or legally alter a name. Formal changes involve practical and potentially legal considerations that this worksheet does not evaluate. A numerological interpretation is not a substitute for the person's preferences or any appropriate professional advice.

If a service saves a profile, review what changing its display name actually changes. An exploratory worksheet should not silently alter account identity, billing records or another person's stored details. Keep a comparison separate from a consequential record-editing action.

Leave room for disagreement

The person may find one symbolic theme useful, both useful or neither useful. That response is allowed. A respectful note can identify the inputs and arithmetic, then offer a question for reflection instead of a directive. Two numerical outputs are two method-dependent calculations, not rival claims to ownership of a person's identity. The worksheet is most useful when it remains understandable and optional.

Astrological interpretations are for reflection, not a diagnosis, a guaranteed prediction or a substitute for professional advice. Journal guides are prepared with AI assistance; they are educational content, not individual consultations.
