State a master-number exception before doing the calculation
A master-number exception is a convention about when to stop reducing a total. It is not an instruction that can be applied consistently without specifying a stage. This worksheet uses 11 and 22 as examples of retained values because those are commonly discussed in modern numerology. It does not treat their symbolic meanings as established facts or make them a reason to change a person's name.

Write the policy before calculating
Choose a clear sentence such as: reduce all component totals to a single digit, but retain 11 or 22 if either appears as the final combined sum. That sentence is only one possible teaching convention. Another method might retain such numbers in each component as well. The important point is to choose and label the method before seeing a result.
Use two fictional component totals, 11 and 11. Under ordinary reduction throughout, they become 2 and 2, giving 4. Under a policy that adds unreduced components and retains a final 22, the report is 22, with 4 as its ordinary single-digit reduction. Both calculations can be written correctly while reporting different stopping points.
Separate an exception from an arithmetic error
Now suppose a worksheet displays 11 + 11 = 23. No retention policy explains that addition. Correct the sum to 22 before discussing reduction. Conversely, a result of 4 is not automatically an addition error if the method explicitly reduces every value. Inspect the working rather than deciding from the preferred symbolic label.
Ask whether a retained total is an endpoint or whether its reduced form is also shown. A notation such as 22/4 can communicate both, provided the worksheet explains the slash. It should not imply two independent measurements or two separate pieces of evidence about the person. They arise from the same chosen arithmetic process.
Keep the convention attached to the result
An exported image should include the input type, table or date rule, unreduced totals and retention policy. A bare badge reading master number does not show how it was obtained. If the app or author does not disclose the relevant rule, record that limitation rather than reverse-engineering a flattering explanation.
When comparing two readings, first make their stopping rules identical and recalculate the fictional example. If the outputs then agree, the earlier disagreement was methodological. If they still differ, examine the actual values and addition. Neither outcome establishes a hierarchy of human worth. People without a retained number are not less capable, and a retained number does not guarantee achievement, spiritual status or exceptional obligations. Treat any associated symbolism as an optional reflective tradition with room for disagreement.
